This is one of the many repair projects completed at Abbey Bookbinding.
This hymn book was of sentimental value, and all inner pages were coming apart and the original cover being of only a paper material, had deteriorated.
The original sewing was removed and pages were re-sewn and the spine strengthened. A blue smooth leather was used for a new cover, with a decorative panel made for the front. Some raised bands were applied to the spine followed by gold tooling of decorative lines, title and author embossed to front and spine
